Jamie's 30 minute meals

Maybe this can cause my food and cooking inspiration to come back! Would guess so! Coming out in Swedish in a few days and has been out in English for about a year(?) Anyways, new to me. I stumbled across an episode of the tv-show just now - thank goodness! :) And I think heaps (if not all?) recipes are also on his website. Here's what I saw today.

müsli / muesli

Today I'm making my own muesli again... before summer ends, I figured :) Not that it's about to end or anything... hrm... :) But this time I'm writing my own recipe and leave out the cinnamon. Will be back about the recipe. But only if it turns out edible+awesome! :)

such a productive day yesterday

My last endeavour yesterday was to save some frozen strawberries from last summer. Strawberry jam. Let me put it this way: Had I known it was this simple to make my own jam... well, then I would never have bought a single jar, ever. So much better + without the weird additives. And I love the jars! The two in the first picture are new additions to my collection and from my local grocery store. The others are old jars that I bought with jam and that are now filled with something much better :) Beautiful recycling.

Perfect!

Yay! My bread turned out soo good!!! :) Yum! If anyone's interested, I'll post the recipe. Just let me know! Kind of a new favourite bread around here I think. :)
Looks like I'll be able to keep up baking my own bread... At least now that I don't have to work anymore. 8 weeks till my baby arrives!

Bread experiment

Today I wanted to make a new kind of bread but really didn't feel like scanning cookbooks and/or the internet. So I just made my own recipe instead. We'll see if it turns out :)

Can't WAIT! :)

I ordered this book today and I just can't wait for it to arrive! Now I know what to spend this summer doing! :) It's a cookbook about edible goodies that are perfect as gifts. And I would expect amazing pictures and wrapping ideas, based on how absolutely gorgeous the writer's original blog is :) Linnéas Skafferi - the place to be. (Translates "Linnéa's Pantry")

And here it is! The second time I've made this parfait ice cream, and it's just the best recipe. I'll make sure to post it for you. It's a recipe I made out of two other ones, so I kinda guess one would say it's mine :) Oh, and don't you just looove the pink colour?? I dooo!

Gingerbread cookie recipe

Serve with glögg or julmust. It's the best! Or hot chocolate. :)
Oh and click the recipe to enlarge.

My own gingerbread cookies

Made from scratch and absolutely delicious. And not even the slightest bit difficult. I should just post the recipe here. It's an old well-tried recipe that my mum has been using for like ever. Would any of you want it? :) Now I've got a large tin of them in the freezer. Ready for Christmas.

New Fav!

Woah! That's a lot of new people visiting my blog! WELCOME! :)
This is what we had for supper...
It really really really is that good :) Especially with this bread. At least if you're the least into veggies and/or soup. And the best part? It is oh so very quick and easy! 30 minutes tops from scratch. Gotta love it!
Do you want the recipe?? Just let me know! :)

Swedish Cuisine #01

So I'm on this quest of learning how to cook proper-homemade-from scratch food within the Swedish cuisine. Stuff that my mother and grandmother would make. First out (at least here on the blog) is pannbiff/wallenbergare or Salisbury steak in English, which is not really the same thing but well, close enough. Publication of recipes can definitely be arranged for if there is any interest - give me a shout should that be the case!
Pannbiff/Wallenbergare with potato wedges, chanterelle sauce and steamed cauliflower+broccoli+carrot.
This is the kind of food one kan feel good about eating! And so yummy! The chanterelles me and mum picked during one of our walks earlier this autumn... :)

Picture customized from Åhlens.
Same style as these only... different! :)

Italian Bread

Here's the delicious ingredients I'm using for the bread I'm baking.
Italian tortano bread filled with sundried tomato, mozzarella cheese, dry-cured ham and basil. Yuuum! :)

Book Love

They've arrived! :) (actually last friday...) Tried one pie recipe from "A Piece of Cake" that same afternoon and now I'm baking a bread from "One More Slice". The pie, rhubarb+strawberry, was just heavenly. So good, the best pie ever! :) And I have good hopes for the bread. We shall know by tonight :)
The books are amazing!! :) Not only heaps of exciting recipes and handy tips, but the pictures are incredible. Love love love! :)

Muesli + favourite

I am now done with the honey roasted rolled oats muesli with cinnamon, I wrote about earlier. Here's a quick picture of it, in the jar I though fit for the job :) It tastes great. Will be even better with some greek or turkish yoghurt and some fresh fruit or berries - kiwi fruit, raspberries, peaches... :) While I was at it in the kitchen I also made a new batch of our new favourite bread - carrot bread (who would've thought??) It always seems to disappear so quickly. Anyways. It's 2.30 am here and I am not even tired. Maybe because I slept 12 hours until 11.30 this morning... I will try to get some sleep anyways, up early for a great day out tomorrow! See yous!
